MEMBER PROTECTION
If you are planning on coaching or managing children (any ages under 18) this year then you must comply with Working with Children legislation.
Please read our club's step by step Working with Children Policy to ensure that you are in compliance.
BHFC members working with children in their capacity as coach, manager etc must comply with all Working with Children legislation and hold a current Working with Children Check (WWC).
There are also circumstances where adult BHFC members not legally required to hold a WWC will be around children or have children witness to their activities, be that at games, training or other BHFC social engagements. Members are expected to act responsibly and be conscious of those witnessing their behaviour, or those impacted by their actions. As a club we must abide by policies which govern our behaviour. Observing these standards help keep our children safe, bring credit to members and strengthen the identity of our club.
The BHFC executive strongly recommends that all players, coaches, managers, parents and spectators familiarise themselves with both HFI and BHFC policies to which we are held accountable. In particular, the BHFC executive expects members to be familiar with relevant Codes of Conduct policies. We all have a role in keeping children, ourselves and our members safe.
