Senior Presentation Night Information
Baulkham Hills Football Division - Senior Presentation Night
Date: Friday 20th October
Venue: Castle Hill RSL Club
Start time: 7.00pm.
Senior players and their partners are welcome.
Cost: All Senior Players and registered Coaches & Managers of a senior team (one of each per team) are invited our 2023 Senior Presentation night which includes a three course meal and a live band(Endless Summer Beach Party).
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the high number of no-shows at previous dinners and the rising costs associated with organising such an event, a deposit of $70 is required per senior player/coach/manager to reserve their seat and of that, $50 will be refunded at the door on the night. Money will not be refunded for no-shows.
The cost for partners and non-players is $70 per head (which covers their meal) and is payable in advance (no refund).
Team managers are to provide a list of names of all players and guests who are attending. They are to organise a direct deposit into the Soccer Division's bank account for the full amount owing, preferably in one instalment. Dribs and drabs are not encouraged and will only lead to confusion. Your deposit description should be your team name.
NB.. If a manager decides to pre-pay the deposit on behalf of his/her players, the organisers need to be notified that the $50 deposit goes back to that manager on the night, not individual players.
An indication of the number of tables (8 players per table) is required for each team must be submitted to the organisers by email by Friday 25th August. In previous years, presentation night has been booked out so it will be first in, best dressed.
Final numbers and payment for each team needs to be received by the Events Team by Friday 15th September, along with any special dietary requirements of guests. Late requests will not be accepted.
All enquiries and communications need to be sent to senior-preso@bhfc.org.au
Ground Official Duties Explained
Dear BHFC members,
At our recent monthly Meeting on Monday evening, we thanked members for their volunteering and again reminded everyone of the role of Ground Officials. To assist our members, this newsletter provides a broad overview of the role for you.
The Ground Official duties are linked in the duty email, on our website and on the table where you collect the Ground Official bibs. We often speak about them at our monthly meeting so your team representative will also be able to help you with any questions you may have. Please read this document before you commence your duty.
In a nut shell, ground officials are our club representative eyes and ears on the ground. It’s important to be engaged and know what is happening.
In the role you’ll:
- Observe
- Assist
- Intervene
- Report
- Communicate
Observe what is happening to ensure games are played in a safe and sportsmanlike manner.
Assist with general enquiries to locate fields/amenities, access medical assistance and support match officials.
Intervene where appropriate to maintain an enjoyable environment for all.
Report back to club officials at the ground for situations that need further assistance.
Communicate with the next shift of Ground Officials and pass on your observations to let them know of areas of need.
Always stay safe. Work together with team officials, match officials and club officials as a united team ensuring an enjoyable day of football for all.
Thank you,
Tony Hughes
President

National Volunteers’ Week
Today marks the start of National Volunteers’ Week. As a community based club we are run entirely by volunteers. It’s rewarding, challenging, exhausting, relentless work for enormous benefit to over 1,000 BHFC members.
From our competitions to our celebrations, from our website to our uniforms, our canteen to our field marking, our grading to our trials, from mentoring to our committees, it’s all done by volunteers. It’s those selfless members who see a need and pitch in and get the job done. Whether their passion is football, volunteering or mateship, our members are the life blood of our club.
It's hours preparing training sessions, sitting through meetings, planning and implementing, reviewing and modifying. It’s rosters, draws, schedules and timetables. Grading, trials, re-scheduled games etc etc… It’s 11 months of work for a 6 month competition. For every person who has mowed our lines, measured out fields, participated in working bees, set up goals, emptied our bins…. Coached, managed, cooked, cleaned, built, planned, served, supervised, coordinated, administered, guided or inspired. It’s all of you who are the Baulko army of volunteers. We thank you and we know sometimes it’s not easy, but it is so very rewarding. Thankyou for every job you do.
During this week we thank our volunteers and extend an open invitation for you to join us. Everyone is welcome.
WE LOVE OUR VOLUNTEERS! #GoBaulko
No Respect, No Game
NO RESPECT, NO GAME
Football NSW, HFI and BHFC would like to remind everyone involved within our game of their responsibility in creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment during football activities.
Football NSW has a zero-tolerance stance for this type of behaviour and will continue to impose strict sanctions on those that do not comply.
The support and safety of our referees, our team officials and our players is paramount.
Following the incidents coming out of last weekends’ Premier League match played within the Bankstown District Amateur Football Association (BDAFA), we’re extremely appalled at the behaviour shown and inflicted on a Referee by a spectator. HFI strictly does not condone such behaviour and would again like to reiterate that these acts of violence are not tolerated within our Association.
As a result of this incident, and as a show of solidarity for our Referee network, we have asked our teams to participate in a 30 second round of applause for all matches that have HFI Referees allocated. This will include both teams standing around the centre circle together with Referees positioned on the halfway line intersect.
What this means for us is that prior to kick off, we will take our position on the halfway line/centre circle intersect with both teams either side spread around the centre circle, where the teams will partake in a 30 second round of applause to show their support for for HFI Referees."
